I know that I am not really qualified for this…

But I just wanted everyone to know that I give New Moon two thumbs up.
I have heard that the movie didn’t get very good reviews from the people who actually know what they are talking about but I find that the movies that they like, I do not, and the movies that they do not like, I am in love with. Needless to say, New Moon is a winner in my heart. Some things that I enjoyed about the movie:

1. I was pleasantly surprised by how closely the book was followed. I am always expecting there to be several changes that stray from the story as well as things that the writers remove and I am completely content with the fact that they cannot put every single thing in the book into the movie. With this being said, the writers of New Moon did a fabulous job of getting the point of the movie across without taking out or adding in a ton of things. It made me happy.

2. Although New Moon was my least favorite book of the series, I think that the movie will definitely not be the worst. It might be a stretch, but I think that if the movie was not better than the book, it was very close.

3. It made me not hate Jacob so much; the writers did a good job of not making him so whiney in the movie, which I greatly appreciate. I still do not like him though.

4. It was just all around a great movie. Although there are things that you will not get the full grasp of if you have not read the books, I think that they did a good job of making it appealing to people who are not really the reading kind.

In conclusion, I think that it was a great movie and I definitely say GO SEE IT! Some things were definitely better than Twilight but I think that Twilight is just so classic that I still love it just as much.

So many new and wonderful things have been happening yet I have not had the time to write about them. I will just list a few of them so that you can all catch up with me:

1. I started clinicals! It has been…interesting. I have to wake up super early which is a bummer but I always feel really good about myself after I leave the nursing home; it makes me happy to make other people happy, especially cute old people:)

2. Jenni’s lil’ love is finally here! He is the sweetest little baby boy in the world (along with my nephew, of course)  and I am so happy for her and her hubby! Congratulations Jen!

3. It is almost Thanksgiving, which is my favorite holiday!

4. This weekend I get to hang out with the best friend while we go to my sister’s house to work on her project! I am so stoked because I haven’t seen her in a while and we will get to spend most of the day together (it is a long drive Kim)!

5. Last but not least, it is finally here tomorrow…I think you know what it is…oh yes! New Moon. I am going to the midnight showing and I am pretty stoked. It should be amazing.

I hope that everyone is having a great week!

So as many of you know, I have been looking for a new way to put pictures on my blog without posting them individually and I also dislike the gallery postings. As you can see, I have flickr on the right side of my page (those are not my pictures) and today I set up an accout. However, I am not sure if that is what I want and I don’t think that I will ever find what I want. I have like 100 pictures that I want to put on here but I really do not have the time to post each one individually…sooooo I am taking suggestions on what I could put on my page or how I should post these pictures.

Thanks.

Today I realized how close New Moon is to coming out. I am really looking forward to seeing the movie and what they do with it. This week is pretty low key with reading and homework so I decided that I am going to read the book again before I see the movie.  I got tickets to the midnight showing so I got a free download on Itunes of this song (I really like it)

Dear H1N1,

28 10 2009

I dislike you very much. I do not have you, and I have been doing a darn good job of making sure I steer clear of you. I am tired of reading about you on all of the headlines and I wish you would just go away; come on now, have a heart. Because of you, there is a huge demand for vaccines, which I am required to get, even though I do not want to. Your form in the vaccine could make me just as sick as if I get you, why would I do that to myself?

Now that you know how I feel about you will you just please disappear so that I do not have to get a vaccine and headlines can read something like, “world peace has been achieved” or “Jessica Hall wins a million dollars from a lottery ticket she found on the ground. Now she can pay half of her tuition!” That would make me very happy.

Thank you for you your time and consideration,

Sincerely,

Jessica Hall

In my religion class (religion and literature of the new testament) we have an assignment to compare an early christianity group to a modern group of the same origins. My group was assigned to Judaism so tonight we went to a synagogue in Tacoma. I was a little nervous because I didn’t really know what to expect and I knew that it would be obvious that we were not Jewish but it was amazing! It was really interesting to hear them speak in hebrew and to see their rituals. There was a speaker there who just took a trip to Berlin that was for people who were in Germany or forced to leave Germany during the holocaust, it was super interesting! Afterwords the rabbi showed us what the real Torah looked like. It is pretty much a huge scroll on really old parchment; they even had one that was donated to them after it was recovered from the holocaust. After we left we went to mcdonalds (which I have not been to in forever) and I got a kid’s meal with a my little pony toy. So all in all this was a great night.
I am so happy it is the weekend. My dad and brother are coming this weekend and their plane should be getting in very soon. I hope everyone has a great weekend!

I hate to be a downer.

21 10 2009

It has been a rough week already. Over the weekend the boyfriend had a football game and is still suffering from a concussion. I have been trying to take care of him and myself, not easy to do. I finally got some homework done today and I was feeling pretty good. Last night was my first night back from his house. It was a little scary leaving him alone but I knew that he wasn’t really alone, his roommates are amazing and I know that they would take care of him if anything happened. So I got some sleep last night (I slept through the entire night for the first time since Friday) although I had to wake up at the buttcrack of dawn for lab at 7. I was debating on whether I was going to take a nap after lab or go to James’s house to keep him company and keep taking care of him. Luckily when he called he said he would be fine so I got to take a lovely 4 hour nap. After the nap I did so much homework, which I have been putting off since I haven’t really had the time or energy. THEN, when I was feeling good I found out that my dad, who was coming to visit from Kansas this weekend, might not actually come. Did he call me? No. I read it on his facebook status. He is debating on whether he is going to cancel the trip because my little brother will have to miss a soccer tournament. I think and hope he will still come visit me, I just hope if he decides not to come, he will let me know. So I am trying to just keep my mind on positive things, like the fact that James is okay and I have a 3 day weekend this weekend.

I hope everyone is having a great week!

Excitement!
